About us

Our language school Alius Lingua is a registered educational institution in the registry of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia. Reg. No. 3360800823. Our language school opened its doors in 2009.

The teaching programmes are licensed and worked out in accordance with the levels of proficiency A1-C2 presented in the document approved by the Council of Europe “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment”(CEFR).

According to our clients’ needs we offer individual classes and group courses, as well as courses to corporate clients. The headquarters of our language school are located in Old Riga, in a beautiful old building in Jana Street, making Alius Lingua easily accessible and a perfect place for studies, as well we offer our services in Gulbene, Liepaja, Rezekne, and Smiltene.

The quality of our services is based on our long-standing experience which enables us to provide you with top quality language services. All our teachers are highly-qualified professionals with MA degrees, and internationally acknowledged specialist certificates. Our teachers have long-standing experience in language teaching, language testing, including participation in various international projects, and in designing several “European Language Portfolios”.

Our language school offers English, French, Italian, Russian, Latvian, Norwegian, Spanish language courses in interactive classes using the latest teaching materials and modern technology, which makes the learning process more effective. During the classes all four language skills are being developed, paying particular attention to improving communication skills.

Alius Lingua offers services of language experts/interpreters/translators.

To check the English, French, Russian, Norwegian, Spanish and German language skills without attending the courses, we offer a specially designed examination/test according to the “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment”.

We will also find the language courses abroad in the United Kingdom and France that are appropriate for our clients.

Alius Lingua library offers a wide range of teaching materials that help our clients learn a foreign language more efficiently.
